Current Industries recognizes G.B. Enterprises for 25 years of support
Bellingham, Wash. ( April 29, 2008 ) -- Current Industries, Inc. is pleased to recognize G.B. Enterprises for 25 years of continued support as a major customer. To commemorate this achievement, John Butorac, executive director of Current Industries, will be making a presentation to Grace Borsari, CEO of G.B. Enterprises, at a ceremony planned for May 8, 2008 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
"We established a working partnership with Grace and G.B. Enterprises in 1983," said Butorac. "GBE was quite literally one of our first manufacturing customers, and we have enjoyed a strong working relationship ever since. Our proximity, flexibility in scheduling and overall capabilities have helped us provide components and assemblies in the millions for GBE. This local alliance has provided over 2 million dollars in wages paid directly to adults with disabilities, allowing individuals to participate more fully within the community. These workers are earning money for rent, transportation, shopping and going out to restaurants."
Current Industries is a local non-profit contract manufacturing business, founded in 1968, that employs people with developmental disabilities in a number of work situations including wire harness assembly, packaging and distribution.
"With a working relationship spanning three decades, G.B. Enterprises and Current Industries truly grew together," said Borsari. "We appreciate the fact that the money we spend on critical assemblies provides work to people with developmental disabilities who might not normally have access to an independent work situation. And there are several business benefits for us in working with Current Industries. For instance, Current has developed a just-in-time production process that helps us meet the stringent demands of the communications powering industry. They do a great job of providing the highest quality product in a rapid timeframe, and we are happy to incorporate their expertise."
G.B. Enterprises was founded in 1978, by Grace Borsari, to manufacture backup supply systems for the cable TV and telecommunications markets. Over the years, GBE has specialized in manufacturing products for communications service providers around the world.
Current Industries, based in Bellingham, Wash., has more than 25 years of contract manufacturing experience, specializing in a comprehensive range of cable and wire harnesses product capabilities including: cut and stripped wire, transformer wire, heavy gauge wire, ribbon cables, modular assemblies, shielded cables and electromechanical assemblies.
